Dovetails

Full dovetail notching, is the most important element in keeping the building corners locked together. This notch has two compound angles which effectively locks the corner section in two directions and also provides a sloped surface for water to run off of the corner. The time spent to calculate and perform this type of compound notch is well worth the effort in structural integrity and decay resistance.

Flexible Chinking

Perma-chink acrylic chinking is installed over a 1 inch thick styrofoam filler between the logs. The foam backer and chinking is applied after the roof has been installed and the final coat of log stain has been applied to the log walls.
